Up-and-coming Malaysian artist Mandy Maung has her first solo exhibition in Penang. Entitled “Songs in Strokes”, the paintings show sympathetic portraits of contemplative women, against vibrant, colourful backgrounds. giving them a wholly contemporary feel.
The portraits bring out the inner beauty of 
normal woman; the backgrounds, Mandy explains, are inspired by music.
Mandy graduated from Equator College of Art in Penang, majoring in Graphics and Multimedia Design, and then went on to study Fine Art in Florence. Her exhibition will run at the G Hotel Art Gallery, on Level 1 of the hotel on Gurney Drive, until January 2nd 2017. The artworks may be seen 24 hours a day, and are also available for sale on application to the reception desk.
