With just under a week to go, the Hin Bus Depot’s current exhibition ‘Art for Nature – Nurturing Nature 2017’ is disappearing fast.

The WWF has exhibited in Penang for the last three years, yet this is the first time it has lined Hin Bus Depot’s walls with a group exhibition – and it is reaping added exposure because of it.  Guests can expect to view high-quality artwork from the likes of Heng Eow Lin the veteran Penang-based oil painter and sculptor, and Thomas Powell the creator of the Chinese Zodiac series that can be found dotted around George Town to name a few. Also, visitors can see what can be achieved in only a few years of artistic experience with artists such as Christine Das, whose colourful and vibrant renderings display what seems to be a wealth of artistic knowledge.

Comprised of local and international artists, the group exhibition aims to raise funds by selling art, the proceeds of which will be channeled to WWF Malaysia’s conservation efforts. And do they need it! At the opening, the director of WWF Malaysia highlighted the fact that, despite the hard work the organisation puts in, it is still far behind in where it needs to be to protect Malaysia’s wildlife. You could contribute to that important cause while taking a valuable piece of artwork home in the process.
