UK-based Gandini Juggling is known for its virtuoso performances which are revolutionising circus performances the world over. The Gandinis have already performed over 5,000 shows in 50 countries
“Smashed” was a Herald Angel Award winner at the Edinburgh Festival 2013 and received rave reviews from British newspapers.
The performers mix circus with theatre. Inspired by the work of renowned choreographer Pina Bausch, “Smashed” is a series of nostalgic filmic scenes exploring conflict, lost love and quaint afternoon tea.
This show portrays the dark art of juggling and contains adult matters, parental guidance is advised.
There is a free-of-charge teaser for the show at Gurney Plaza in the Central Atrium, on Friday August 26th at 7pm.
The show itself takes place on Saturday August 27th and Sunday August 28th at the Majestic Theatre. Tickets range in price from RM 25 for students up to RM 85, and are available from the George Town Festival Office on Armenian Street or from http://redtix.airasia.com/events/smashed
