In what will be the last weekend of the Penang Craft Beer launch, you can expect a decidedly local affair. The host, Gusto Cafe in Tanjung Bungah, is a staple hangout of the Hillside area frequented for over four years by friends and family alike. The Colour Noise, the band playing for the evening, hail from Penang and have been playing together for over six years accredited with their own album and national fame. All celebrating the first ever batch of Penang-labelled craft beer.

Judging by the launch Best Coast Brew Distribution organised last year, the event promises to be energetic… to say the least. Not least of all because this is the first craft beer made by Bay Bridge Brewery in California marketed specifically for Penangites. The Red Door irish red ale, Ang Moh Leng Teh amber ale and indian pale ale, Triad, are on their way to tailoring craft beer tastes for Penang, and rumour has it that another label is set to join them in the future.

Come and join this increasingly popular fete where – as is customary on the island – the best of Penang are supported by its lively community. To top it all off, Gusto Cafe will be pumping out their famous fare for the hungry – or even slightly peckish, it’s that good.
