A Simple Space from the award-winning Adelaide-based acrobatics troupe Gravity and Other Myths premiered at the 2013 Adelaide Fringe, and has since been performed all over the world to critical and popular acclaim. We are truly fortunate to have them visit us here in Penang as part of this year’s George Town Festival.

The seven expert acrobats work within a simple square space with very few props, but manage to perform complex gymnastic routines, and also to make the audience laugh, with their combination of circus-style acrobatics and audience-engaging comedy sketches and practical jokes.

The show is enjoyably energetic, even hectic, sometimes over-exaggerated, breath-taking, often original and sometimes frighteningly dangerous. The intensity is magnified by the accompaniment of driving live percussion throughout.

With the audience alternating between laughter and gasps, the sixty minute show seems to pass in the blink of a an eye. You can watch a 2 minute taster of the show here: https://youtu.be/yNIUIXSdroU
