The RLT Players are a group of dedicated actors from Dalat International School who perform short dramatic sketches in the format of dramatic storytelling.

Founded by  Dalat Drama writer and director Mark W. Sasse, the RLT Players’ has been performing at penangpac since 2011, with diverse original productions ranging from side-splitting comedy to poignant drama, using, as they say “limited props but unlimited imagination”.

Mark Sasse is leaving Malaysia in June after ten years of teaching drama in Penang. To mark the departure, and the last performances before he leaves, Sasse is putting on RLT Players: A Collection of our Best, 2011-2017, on May 12th and 13th at penangpac.  With a cast of 23, RLT Players: Our Best goes into the RLT archives and pulls out some favorite sketches including Tutti Fruitti, A Walk with Robert and Frost, I Once was Blind, and a new rendition of the award-winning play: Almighty Might. Written by Mark W. Sasse. Directed by Mark W. Sasse & Doug Yost.

A week later, also at penangpac, follows the RLT Musical Revue, an eclectic and joyous collection of short musicals and original songs from a variety of shows and performances over the past ten years. Featuring the powerhouse vocals of Penangite Aster Hng, the choreography of Darby Kendrick and Susan Oh, and a cast of 22 singers, dancers, and musicians, RLT Musical promises a unique evening of music and drama held together by Sasse’s narrative pieces.

RLT Musical features new renditions of two musicals featured at Short & Sweet Musical KL: “A Woman at War” & “Captured in Time & Space.” It also features the word premiere of the new short musical “It’s the End of the World & I Love You” with Aster Hng and Aaron Chand.  Written by Mark W. Sasse and directed by Mark W. Sasse & Christopher Ramos.
